Section 01

Effective date

These terms take effect on . That is also the date they were last updated. If you are reading a printed copy, check the date at the top against this page; the version online is the one that counts.

They apply to anyone who visits austinroofingcompany.de, reads it, sends an inquiry through it or uses the chat. They do not replace the contract you sign for roof work. Where the two disagree on a job, the signed contract wins.

Section 02

Who these terms are with

The site is run by Austinroofingcompany, trading at austinroofingcompany.de as Austin Roofing Company. Our office is at 12430 Metric Blvd, Austin, Texas 78758, United States. Phone 512-952-7454. Email [email protected].

"We", "us" and "our" in these terms mean that business. "You" means the person using the site, and if you are asking about a roof you own, the owner of that roof.

Section 03

What this site does, and what it does not

The site describes the roofing work we do in Austin and around it, Lakeway included: roof leak and flashing repair, full roof replacement, storm and hail damage inspection, standing-seam metal roofing and emergency dry-in. It lets you ask for an estimate, call us, email us or open a chat. The details of each service sit on the services page, and how we run a job is on the about page.

It does not diagnose your roof. A photo you send us helps, but a leak at a ceiling stain can start six feet uphill at a pipe boot, and nobody can see that from a phone picture. Nothing on the site is engineering advice, an insurance opinion or legal advice. We do not negotiate insurance claims for you and we do not act as a public adjuster.

Section 04

Inquiries, estimates and how an order is made

Nothing is sold on this site. There is no cart, no checkout and no payment taken here, and we never ask for card details through a form or the chat. Sending the estimate form asks us to get in touch. It does not book work and it does not commit you to anything.

Any figure you see on the site, or hear on the phone before we have been on the roof, is an estimate. It is not a binding quote. For a repair we may give you a rough range from photos. For a replacement we will not give a number at all until the roof is measured, because a 22-square hip roof and a 22-square gable are different jobs.

An inquiry becomes an order in these steps:

  1. We inspect the roof, on it, and photograph what we find.
  2. We send a written estimate, itemised layer by layer: deck repair, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, shingle or panel.
  3. You sign a written contract that names the scope, the materials, the price and the workmanship terms.

Until step 3 is signed by both of us, neither side owes the other anything. A verbal yes over the phone does not start a job.

Section 05

How roof repair and replacement prices are worked out

All prices are in US dollars (USD). The basis depends on the work:

  • Leak and flashing repair: a fixed written price per repair, given after an on-roof inspection.
  • Full roof replacement: per roofing square (100 square feet) measured on the roof, plus decking replaced per sheet as found once the old roof is off.
  • Storm and hail damage: the inspection is free; any repair or replacement is priced as above.
  • Standing-seam metal: per roofing square, with panel gauge and finish itemised on their own lines.
  • Emergency dry-in and tarping: per call-out, with the price stated before anyone climbs.

Roof replacement cost in Austin moves for real reasons, and the contract says which of them can change your price. The usual one is decking. We cannot see rot through shingles, so the estimate carries a per-sheet price and the final count is what we find and photograph after tear-off. Other things that change a price: you change the material or the scope, the manufacturer changes a list price before materials are ordered, or a hidden condition such as a sagging rafter needs work the estimate did not include. We tell you before doing anything that costs more, and we show you the photograph.

We do not offer to cover, waive or absorb an insurance deductible. In Texas that is insurance fraud, and we will not write a contract around it.

Section 06

Warranty: the manufacturer's and ours

There are two separate things people call "the warranty" on a roof, and they come from different places.

Manufacturer warranty. Shingles, underlayment, membranes and metal panels carry the warranty their manufacturer issues. We pass it through to you as the manufacturer issues it. We do not extend it, shorten it or add to its wording, and its length and conditions are the manufacturer's, not ours. The contract names the product, so you can read the manufacturer's terms before you sign. Most of these warranties depend on correct installation and on proper attic ventilation, which is one reason the estimate carries a ventilation line.

Workmanship terms. Our own terms for the installation, meaning how the work was done rather than what the material is, are written into each signed contract. They differ by job: a single pipe-boot repair on a 20-year-old roof is not the same commitment as a full tear-off to the deck. This website states no workmanship period, and nothing here creates one. If a contract is silent on something, ask before you sign.

What a warranty does not cover, whoever issues it: damage from a later storm, hail or falling limb; work done on the roof by someone else after we finish; foot traffic from satellite or solar installers; and blocked gutters or ventilation changed after the job. If you think something we did has failed, call 512-952-7454 and we will come out and look before anyone argues about who pays.

Section 07

Acceptable use

Use the site to find out about roofing and to contact us. Do not:

  • send an inquiry in someone else's name, or for a property you have no connection to;
  • use the forms or the chat to send advertising, links to unrelated sites or anything abusive;
  • try to get into parts of the site that are not linked publicly, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it with automated requests;
  • scrape the text or photographs in bulk, or copy them onto another contractor's site;
  • upload or paste anything that carries malware.

The forms carry spam traps. An inquiry that trips them is discarded without a reply.

Section 08

Text, photographs and marks

The words on this site, its photographs, its layout, the Austin Roofing Company logo and the stamp seal belong to us or are used with permission. You may read them, print a page for your own use and share a link. You may not republish them, put them in your own marketing, or present our photographs of roof work as your own.

Photographs we take of your roof during an inspection go into your estimate packet, and you may use them for your own purposes, including sending them to your insurer.

Section 09

What the site does not promise

The site is provided as it is. We keep it accurate, but material availability, manufacturer specifications and lead times change, sometimes within a week of a hailstorm. Descriptions of materials are general and do not warrant that a product suits your house. Whether it suits your roof is decided on the roof.

We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption or free of errors. The chat is answered by people who are often on a ladder; a reply can take hours, and the chat is not the place to report water coming through a ceiling. Call for that.

Links to other sites, such as a map service or the Microsoft privacy statement, are there for convenience. We do not control those sites.

Section 10

Limit of liability

Using this website is free, and our liability for the website itself is limited to the extent Texas law allows. We are not liable for loss that comes from relying on general information on the site instead of an inspection, for a decision made on a rough repair range before we have seen the roof, or for downtime of the site, the forms or the chat.

Liability for roof work is set by the signed contract and by the law, not by this page. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Section 11

Refusing or withdrawing access

We can block access to the site, the forms or the chat for anyone who breaks section 07, sends repeated spam, or uses the site in a way that harms it or other visitors. We can also take the site or any part of it down for maintenance without notice.

We can decline an inquiry. The usual reasons: the job is outside the area we work, the request is to lay a new roof over an old one, or the request is to help with a deductible. Declining an inquiry ends nothing, because no contract existed.

Section 12

Governing law and disputes

These terms run under the law of Texas, United States. Any dispute about them or about the use of this site is heard in the courts of Austin. If you live elsewhere and the law where you live gives you rights that a contract cannot take away, those rights still apply.

Most disagreements about a roof are settled faster on the roof than in court. Tell us first, in writing, and we will come back with photographs and an answer.

Section 13

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we publish the new version on this page and update the effective date in section 01 and in the page header. A change applies from that date to use of the site after it. It does not reach back into a contract already signed; that contract keeps the terms it was signed under.

If a change is substantial, for example to how estimates turn into orders, we also note it on the home page for at least 30 days.
